Ceramic coating application — hydrophobic gloss finish on vehicle paint

Ceramic Coating

Bond lasting protection directly to your paint for a deep, hydrophobic gloss that's easy to maintain.

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your vehicle's painted surfaces, creating a semi-permanent protective layer that water, dirt, and contaminants can't penetrate. Unlike traditional wax or sealant that sits on top of the paint and breaks down over months, ceramic coating becomes part of the surface — delivering protection that lasts years, not weeks.

At KAR FX Customs, we prep the paint thoroughly before every ceramic install — removing contamination, correcting surface defects where needed, and ensuring the coating bonds to a clean, flawless foundation. The result is a deep, glass-like gloss that stays cleaner longer and is far easier to maintain.

  • Hydrophobic surface causes water and dirt to bead off easily
  • Chemical resistance protects against environmental contaminants
  • Enhances gloss and paint clarity significantly
  • Lasts years with proper maintenance — not weeks like wax

The Process

01

Paint Decontamination

The surface is fully washed, clayed, and decontaminated before any coating is applied.

02

Correction (If Needed)

Any swirl marks or surface defects are addressed so the coating locks in a perfect finish.

03

Coating Application

Ceramic is applied panel by panel and leveled under controlled conditions before curing.

FAQ

Depending on the product tier and how the vehicle is maintained, ceramic coatings typically last 2–5 years. Professional-grade coatings with regular maintenance can exceed that.

No — ceramic coating doesn't provide impact protection. It protects against chemical damage, UV, and contamination. For chip protection, PPF is the right product.

If your paint has swirl marks or scratches, yes — ceramic will lock in whatever's underneath. We assess the paint at consultation and recommend the right prep level.

Yes. Applying ceramic coating over PPF is a popular combination — the ceramic keeps the film cleaner and easier to maintain while the PPF handles physical impact protection.
